Dr. Leroy J. Pelicci is a long time Scranton resident. He attended Scranton Preparatory School on a full academic scholarship and graduated Salutatorian in his class. He was a National Merit Scholar. He attended the University of Scranton on a Presidential and Fitch Scholarship, graduated Magnum Cum Laude, Valedictorian in the PreMed Division. Recipient of the University's Award in Excellence in Biology. He was one of three who was allowed to graduate medical school in three years from the Pennsylvania State University, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, graduated in the Top of his Class. He did a combined psychiatry/neurology residency that normally takes 9 years in 4 1/2 years. He was the Recipient of the John Frederick Steinmann Award in Psychiatry during the psychiatry residence.

In his last year at the Hershey Medical Center, he was the chief resident of Neurology. He obtained his Certification in Neurology in November of 1981. He is certified in Pain Management since 1991. He is also a Board Eligible Psychiatrist. He has been in private practice in the Scranton area since 1980. He established Neurology Departments at three local hospitals including Mercy, Moses Taylor, and Mid-Valley Hospital and has served as Director in Neurology. He is a member of numerous medical societies including, American Sleep Disorders Association, American Pain Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Academy of Pain Management. His practice is primarily Adult Neurology with a special interest in sleep disorders as well as pain management. He is on the staff at the Moses Taylor and Mid-Valley Hospitals.

Our administrative assistant, Ms. Lenita Cure, has an Associates degree in the Medical Secretary field. She has been working with Dr. Pelicci since the practice opened in June of 1980. Some of her duties involve appointment scheduling, submission of insurance claims, documentation of medical records, disability forms.

Mr. Tim Guse is a native of Scranton with a Masters of Arts degree. He has been working the Neurodiagnostic field since 1980. He is the only registered evoked potential, nerve conduction and thermography technician in Northeast PA. In addition, he has had extensive training and experience in electroencephalography (EEG), polysomnography (sleep studies), and electrocardiography (EKG).

Directions to the Office:

Traveling north on Route 81, from south of Scranton, take exit 53 (left-hand exit) marked Central Scranton Expressway. Follow Expressway into downtown Scranton. Follow the directional signs for Jefferson Avenue (right-hand lane). As the Expressway empties into the city streets, proceed 6 blocks on Jefferson Avenue to Gibson Street (Mercy Hospital will be on the right hand side). Take a right on to Gibson; proceed 4 blocks to Quincy Avenue. Pelicci Pain Relief Center is in the Moses Taylor Hospital Physician's Building on the southeast corner of the intersection.

Traveling south on Route 81, from north of Scranton, take exit 57 to the North Scranton Expressway (Joseph McDade Expressway). Proceed approximately 2 miles straight into downtown Scranton, the Expressway becomes Mulberry Street. Proceed through 8 traffic lights (8th at Madison Avenue), continue through Madison Avenue, past Monroe Avenue, and take a left onto Quincy Avenue. Proceed 4 blocks to Gibson Street. The Pelicci Pain Relief Center is in the Moses Taylor Hospital Physician's Building on the right-hand side of the intersection of Quincy Avenue and Gibson Street.
